Twelve-year-old specialty home furnishings and lighting retailer, Carolina Rustica, happily announced that steady business growth in the realm of 40 percent, has prompted the company to launch a new ecommerce store on a Magento platform.
In a somewhat stalled growth period for many retailers, this is good news. The company is anticipating the launch of several new lifestyle-specific microsites, each one designed to sell specific types of products geared towards particular design styles.
“The upscale design, easy navigation, and extensive categories will make for quicker item selection, easier checkout and more satisfied buyers,” said Richard Sexton, President and Founder, Carolina Rustica.
The company is not solely ecommerce, it operates several retail galleries in the highly-dense furniture market in Concord, North Carolina. It’s a small business but the news of its growth and new ecommerce platform launch is an example of optimistic signs of growth for other such small businesses.
The company collaborated with several technology consultants and ultimately selected Magento, an open source e-commerce suite of products owned by Ebay, because they liked the flexibility in design and functionality and ability to create thematic microsites for their 75,000-product catalog.
The microsites being launched include crmodernhome.com, croutdoorfurniture.com, crhomeofficefurniture.com and crkidsroom.com.
