Online retail innovators are making our virtual shopping experiences easier and more fun than ever.
Take Visa’s new Rightcliq, for instance, which is working to bring online shoppers to one hub where their preferences and certain settings can be remembered. Users download the Rightcliq plug-inand can then add any potential purchases to their “Wishspace.” Items are added with images and can then be organized into groups so the user can visually compare items. When the user wants to make a purchase, Rightcliq securely stores multiple credit cards (not just Visa) and automatically fills in all the information needed for checkout. After a making purchase, the site tracks orders and displays where they are on a map.
In the luxury retail space, European-based Net-A-Porter just announced the introduction of an iPad app where customers will be able to browse complete looks from Net-A-Porter’s magazine and buy them right from the pages. Customers will also be able to share the products with family and friends if unsure about a purchase. Hopefully the editorials and video the site promises to update weekly will aid in such indecision.
And if glossy mags really are your downfall, then you have another reason to be taken with them in the digital space as Glamour has just launched its iPad app, complete with e-commerce feature; a shopping section exclusive to the app which contains 17 items (hopefully more soon) that readers can click to buy on the retailer’s or manufacturer’s website.
