It’s a simple formula: put money on a card that can only be spent at said retailer and customer is bound to buy even more at said retailer. It’s kind of a no brainer. But with the advent of so many digital fancies, some retailers may be neglecting their gift card strategies. Here are a few highlights from the graphic which prove why you shouldn’t:

– The average shopper spends more than $150 on gift cards annually.
– 72% of gift card recipients make a return trip to the store.
– Online retailers can expect a 10% uplift in sales after launching a gift card program.
