Infographic Alert: Cyber Monday 2013’s Record Breaking Results

Retailers this year had a much more challenging holiday season than in years’ past. Losing six days in the holiday season forced online retailers to get “creative” as they started to roll out their major promotions on Cyber Monday in order to get that much needed boost to their bottom-lines.

Nobody could’ve predicted how much that gamble would pay off.

An infographic put together by PFSweb highlights statistics about how retailers actually performed this holiday season, citing the unprecedented 15.7% growth in overall sales compared with last year. Mobile spending was perhaps the biggest success story this year, with mobile sales up by 55% over last year.

Here are some more stats from the infographic:

New York took the top spot for total online retail sales on Cyber Monday. Rounding out the top five were Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago and Atlanta.

– Social media drove $148 Million in online sales between Thanksgiving & Cyber Monday

– Combined iOs and Android purchases accounted for 93.5% of all online sales via mobile and tablet.

In short, it was a very good year for e-tailers! Check out the full graphic below to see just how telling the stats really are:
