Shopping app, Slice, has released some data on the popularity of daily deal sites, revealing a big spike in the number of daily deals purchased in 2012.
Does that mean the whole daily deal phenomenon has not gone bust, after all?
Ok so maybe we never thought that harshly, but there’s certainly been talk about whether daily deal sites would really last or whether the market was just too saturated with them. This infographic seems to suggest that we’re only just beginning to see the huge successes of daily deal sites.
Here are some of the highlights:
– The winner is… coffee! The most purchased deal across Google Offers, Groupon and LivingSocial was the Google Offers deal at Starbucks’s: $5 for $10 worth of Starbucks.
– San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Seatte – the most deal-hungry cities.
– People spend more on Wednesday and Thursday. Meanwhile, Sundays are by far the slowest days.
